If in no hurry, might be worth waiting to see if it drops back down to $700.
1) The RZ30 is ever so slightly better than the 305 in that it has 2 discrete SW outs and supports DLBC. Power-wise, it's identical and exhibits the same power limiting for low impedance loads per Amir's bench test on ASR.
2) The "updated HDMI board" is a myth. Turns out it was started by a misprint in the Onkyo manual that Onkyo never bothered to correct in print (I think the digital version is now correct). You can read about this confusion here:

"ever so slightly better....because it has 2 discrete SW and SUPPORTS DLBC"!!!
That's a very very very low outlook on DLBC benefits!!!
If true, how many people would pay $300 for DLBC?
Is A1 Evo or Dirac better? Pick a lane! Don't change your argument depending on what "deal" the thread is in (it's very "political" of you to favor one and knock the other in that fashion).
You never responded to how even the creator of A1 Evo (OCA) said "Hate to admit this but ART is next gen and no manual calibration with classical SISO filters can match it". Still think A1 Evo can be better or even match Dirac ART?
