However, does anyone know what the effective differences are? Is one or the other more physically challenging or provide a better cardio workout? Is one more suitable for targeting certain muscle groups? Is one better for people with joint pain or balance issues?

From looking at the photos, Merach 3D Motion Rocking Stepper can be harder on your knees since it's a stepper. Merach Balance Board is mimicking skiing motions and I can see the side stomach muscles and side legs will be used a lot.
I am thinking about getting this balance board machine for $20.

My cats took a liking of the platform and started to nap on it during the day. Maybe it'll also serve as a rocking bed for the cats lmao.
