Have had mine for over 2 years and after several one bag travel euro trips, have been very satisfied. This quality bag should easily be $250. Also have their 1.5L sling and again quality all around!

I've got one of their laptop sleeves and love it. I've been looking at the backpacks for something to wear for daily use, basically laptop, iPad switch 2, first aid kit, snacks, battery pack and cables and a water bottle. Is this too big for that?

I would say slightly too big, but better to be over than under. It's still compact enough you wouldn't notice too much. Having said that believe sale is over, but they are still reasonable prices can really buy any time.
