This is my first time using EVgo. I supposedly got the $5 credit and I saw in the transaction there was $5 credit. Base on the receipt I was charged $0.17, but my credit shows I was charged $5. I hope it gets refunded back to me otherwise gotta deal with support.
They automatically put a $5 hold on credit card, it should disappear and charge the actual amount once the session done,

I have $100 from a dozen promo codes this year. I believe they don't begin the 30 day expiration until you actually start using them.
anyone actually have credits expire?

I firmly believe the only people that have credits set to expire are the ones who have recently used partial credits and have a remaining balance from a recent transaction. If you haven't used them at all then you have nothing to worry about expiring. I've been mentioning this and have seen other members mentioning they have untouched credits still from many months and even years ago.

Base on your assumption, once you use at of credit, ALL credit set to expire in a month or so, or some have longer expiration date?

Never had any expire so I have no clue if using a charger pulls from the oldest credits or the newest credits. I would hope it only triggers the 30 day expiration on the remaining credits from the oldest promo code and not the most recent promo code but who knows for sure.

Can you confirm your credit still didn't expire? Thanks.

My credits didn't expire. I'm guessing it's because I didn't use any so the expiration hasn't started. The other guy above me clearly used some of the credits and that is what initiated the expiration of some of his credits.

It look like it is not a good idea to save it too much unless you can use it all up in a month or so. I had multiple codes on my account before and I used it all up before May. Then I add $20 from May and this $5 from June, and my total was $25 yesterday and I didn't use any during May or June, when I check the balance today, it show $5.03. I have another account have $5.48 yesterday and it show $0.02 only, I was hoping it should have $5. which is very strange.

Same here. Some credits definitely got wiped out. In my case, I had a bunch of credits up to $25 collected over the last couple months now. I used them all up and had $1 and change left yesterday. But here is the weird thing. I added the $5 4th July credit yesterday which brings my total to $6.xx and today when I checked, my account is $0.01

I started using my EVGO credits a few days after getting the warning message about credits getting expired at end of month. I had about $60 in credits. I had never used EVGO before. I went for 2 sessions in days leading up to 7/1 and used up around $30. I just checked today 7/1 and still see $30.32 account credit. But like you all noted, there is no expire date = "some credits may expire". It would have been nice to save up the credits for a road trip, but my FOMO did want lose the credits :-).

7/2 Update
I just checked my account today and my $30 credit mysteriously dropped to $8.90 today.

I can confirm that exp won't kick in before your first use. I had accumulated around $100 since early last year. Used it all for 3 trips this month. BTW, EVgo is rip off. 70 cents/kwh vs usually 42 Tesla, both during peak hrs. But free is free, no complaint. And Tesla really hates 3rd party chargers. Every time, it took me 2 or 3 times for Tesla to recognize them, especially in old EVgo stations. I also tried a few other 3rd party stations. It was the same thing. Although I charged once at a brand new EVgo station, and Tesla recognized it instantly. So might be a common problem with worn 3rd party chargers.

I used $35 worth of saved credits on a recent roadtrip. EVGo is way more expensive than competitors at the site I charged at. Luckily the EVGo was right next to a Supercharger, and after I used my $35 of free credits, I switched to the Supercharger to save some money.

I never used my credits and I just lost $40 of them at the beginning of this month. Only 5.05 left.
