Anyone have any experience with this product? Bugs eat me alive, but I have yet to find anything that actually works for preventing it.

This works but is not 100 percent fool proof. You have to set it up 10-15 min before you go outside. I have received fewer bites since last year when I discovered the line of products.

Also less effective if it is super windy.

You put it upwind of where you're sitting. And if it's too windy for even that, then the mosquitoes aren't gonna be able to fly anyway. These things are magical imho.

I used this in Asia and it worked great as long as it's not too windy. Does take a few minutes to get going but once it does you'll start to see all the mosquitoes flying around start to keep their distance

I've found that it works on normal mosquitoes, but I get those Asian tiger mosquitoes in my backyard and those things aren't even phased by these. I've seen them fly directly through the vapor to try to get to me.

We use them by our outdoor hot tub and when camping and feel they work pretty good.

Its an extract of a flower (chrysanthemum?) that repels many mosquitos. The pads are impregnated with it and then the small butane heater warms it up so it releases into the air.

Some mosquitos are hungrier than they are repulsed, so its not 100%, but its like 95% fewer mosquitos. Which means that if you stay outside for 10minutes now before bugs drive you in, you could stay out for an hour or so.

Put them out 10-15m before you plan on staying outside to create a saturation zone (and if there's no humans to eat *and* a horrible smell, I think nearby mosquitos wander away). I tend to put them on the yard-side of chairs/tables to make the bugs fly through as much yuck as possible. IIRC the zone is like 15ft across per thermocell.

Oh and put opened pads in a zip lock bag between uses so they don't go bad. Once the blue color starts noticeably fading, change pads.

I didn't even know this product existed. Just bought the one with the extended battery to take on our camping trip next week, thank you!

It clouds you in insecticide. I wanted to try this stuff but I can't bring myself to surround myself and my family in a cloud of aerosol insecticide that I would be breathing in for hours.

It would if the mosquito hung out long enough to get poisoned to death. Instead it gets just enough poison to 'disorient' them so they fly off in other directions. The active ingredient that is aeresoled from this product is an insecticide.
