This Sansui OLED stands out as a very cheap way to get OLED picture quality, especially for dark rooms, bedrooms, or other secondary setups. The panel gets strong contrast, good off angle viewing, and solid movie upscaling, and it can even work well as a PC display or gaming screen when the settings cooperate. The main drawbacks are the slow Google TV software, limited picture controls, and weaker brightness and HDR in well lit rooms. The heavy base is hidden in the box, and recent updates have improved some HDMI 120 hertz and HDR behavior, making it a more capable budget OLED than the price suggests.

  • The TV can support 4K 120Hz with HDR and VRR after a software update.

  • The TV can work with NVIDIA GPUs for G-Sync style VRR behavior.

  • The TV supports karaoke mode using the remote as a microphone with YouTube lyric-style videos.

  • The TV can be set up offline without Wi‑Fi for initial configuration.

  • Input lag and HDMI chroma behavior can limit PC and Steam Deck use at high refresh rates.

  • The TV's HDMI 2.0 ports can limit gaming to 60Hz even with a 120Hz panel.

  • HDR can appear too dark in real-world viewing, especially in well-lit rooms.

  • Google TV performance can feel slow or underpowered, making the smart interface frustrating.

I bought this when it was posted on here around February for $499.

If you're just looking for a spare TV for a bedroom, loft, etc - this is a crazy good price for an OLED panel. But that's kinda it for the pros.

If you're wanting this as your main TV, I would recommend spend a bit more for something better.

Brightness Level - great in dark rooms, decent (but a bit low) in well lit rooms, HDR is not good and too dark.
Software - slow af (you will want to beat your head on the wall), recommend pairing with an external streaming device, extremely limited in terms of what you can do to adjust picture settings
Hardware - remote is IR so you must point it at the tv for it to work, speakers get loud but quality is maybe a 5/10

tldr; great price for an OLED Panel, everything else is frustratingly bad. Am I happy with it? Yes, for my use case. Would I buy another one? No

Keep in mind, this weighs like 50 pounds itself.
Have a pretty light TV right now, at 15-20 pounds.
Not sure if my cheap furniture can take the weight.

How are you enjoying? What's your primary use case?

Any notable Pros/Cons that you can point out?

Would love to hear your opinions on it! Seems like a real bargain, but with major cut corners and caveats.
I have this in a dark room with little sunlight. It's pretty bright once you change the video settings to get out of Eco Mode and into Movie Mode, and turn on (or off) the "visual bug" software (see the YouTube videos explaining this). DV/HDR looks nice but can appear dark at times. I still prefer SDR content for that extra brightness.

Out of the box, I like that you can set up the TV offline without Wi‑Fi, as I did. I attached my Onn Pro 4K streaming device. I primarily use it for streaming movies, shows, Twitch livestreams, and sports, most recently the NBA Finals and the current FIFA World Cup. I don't use it for gaming.

It sounds pretty decent and loud, so I don't think I need an additional soundbar. I was debating between this and a TCL QM5 or QM6, which my family member has and recommended. The TCL is brighter, which is good if it's going to be in a room with sunlight or brighter lighting.

I hope this TV lasts a long time. My previous Chinese TV, the LeEco Super4 X55, which I found on Slickdeals and bought in 2017 worked fine, but the backlight gave out a few months ago.

Unboxing video:

I used that video when I was unboxing mine, but he didn't show where he got the heavy mounting base part, so I thought it was missing from the box. But its burried/hidden at the bottom of the TV box.

I bought one of these about 14 months ago at 599 for a kitchen TV. Our kitchen is fairly light controlled so no huge windows or skylights. It uses a LG WOLED panel similar to the LG B5 in our living room, the B5 however can go brighter. In the kitchen it replaced our 55-in Samsung QLED LCD Q70B. That wasn't a terrible TV with the main issue was off angle viewing in the kitchen work area, being an LCD TV, there was distortion. Also, the Samsung Tizen built-in Smart TV OS is a lockdown system, we use a Silicon Dust HD Homerun for over the air broadcast TV channels, and there is no app available for things like Tizen or LG OS.

The Sansui has Google TV which is based on Android and allows side loading and installation of any app I want including that one. As far as how it worked we are generally very happy with it, viewing off angle is no longer a problem and for the most part it brings most of the OLED goodness that OLED TV's bring. It has decent build quality and comes with a metal center stand although we wall mounted it. The Google TV OS is somewhat slower and laggier than the Tizen OS the Samsung had. The picture is not as bright as our LG B5 but plenty bright enough.

We don't use it for gaming which is a good thing because even though it has a 120 Hz panel, the ports are HDMI 2.0 not 2.1 so it would top out at 60 Hz for gaming so I wouldn't recommend it, not even for console gamers. It has served us well, there are no burn-in issues with it, but if I had to do it all over again I would have bought one of the Best Buy open box LG B4 that were available shortly thereafter for a couple hundred dollars more.

Overall though it performs like an OLED, for our use plenty bright and at the time $600 was cheap. At $400 to me it's almost a no-brainer compared to a $400 LCD. If someone intends on using one of these for something other than a kitchen TV or small room, I would highly recommend a sound bar. At $400 I liked it enough to pick one up on this deal to replace the 43-in in my garage workshop but read the reviews, YMMV depending on what you prioritize, for me and our use it was overall picture quality and off angle viewing.

How's the picture quality on this compared to the Samsung and LG Oleds?
It's an LG panel. It's close to an older LG B series OLED. But I don't recall which generation. B3 maybe?

Is this tolerable in bright room? I mean the shades will be closed, but a lot of light still comes into the room. I know this has worse brightness than the LG B models.

Interesting price proposition. Some people online are certain that these use LG B4 panels. The lacking OSD and features stay my hand.
I have one of the 48 inch $500 B4s from an SD deal about a year back and OLED really is pretty nice, even on the cheap end. Sadly, now my eyes are instantly drawn to and annoyed by virtually any level of backlight glow on other displays.

I hope Sansui takes all the customer feedback about what can be improved with this model and incorporates it into the next version. This TV was pretty tempting even at $500.
