This Sansui OLED stands out as a very cheap way to get OLED picture quality, especially for dark rooms, bedrooms, or other secondary setups. The panel gets strong contrast, good off angle viewing, and solid movie upscaling, and it can even work well as a PC display or gaming screen when the settings cooperate. The main drawbacks are the slow Google TV software, limited picture controls, and weaker brightness and HDR in well lit rooms. The heavy base is hidden in the box, and recent updates have improved some HDMI 120 hertz and HDR behavior, making it a more capable budget OLED than the price suggests.

  • The TV can support 4K 120Hz with HDR and VRR after a software update.

  • The TV can work with NVIDIA GPUs for G-Sync style VRR behavior.

  • The TV supports karaoke mode using the remote as a microphone with YouTube lyric-style videos.

  • The TV can be set up offline without Wi‑Fi for initial configuration.

  • Input lag and HDMI chroma behavior can limit PC and Steam Deck use at high refresh rates.

  • The TV's HDMI 2.0 ports can limit gaming to 60Hz even with a 120Hz panel.

  • HDR can appear too dark in real-world viewing, especially in well-lit rooms.

  • Google TV performance can feel slow or underpowered, making the smart interface frustrating.

How are you enjoying? What's your primary use case?

Any notable Pros/Cons that you can point out?

Would love to hear your opinions on it! Seems like a real bargain but with major cut corners and caveats.
i use it for gaming and use of my computer. Not what average folks do but its great for the price. I dont know how great the high end ones look compared to this but for a TV so cheap its as much as you can ask for

Not aware of any currently - I think they've effectively stopped paying affiliate commissions which is typically what funds CB offers

Don't buy this. I got it for $500 for BF a while back and regret it every time I use it. One of those "buy the quality tool the first time or you'll buy the tool twice" situations. The picture is fine for a cheap bedroom TV. Certainly not LG C series brightness. As others have said, the Google TV functionality is massively underpowered and is practically unusable. No updates have come to address this. Maybe around two minutes after turning on the TV does it become usably responsive. The remote is IR so it's hard to know whether the remote isn't registering (there's nothing in the way and I'm pointing it from bed at a wall mounted TV) or if the TV itself is stalling and ignoring input. Oh btw, it apparently uses the same frequency as my Woozoo fan, so adjusting the fan turns on my TV. Cool… I connected it to a Beam 2 for audio and forget about the concept of audio sync for Atmos content. There are no adjustments via the TV nor Sonos to compensate for the lag—it's awful and you just have to try to ignore it. I'm hoping this is resolved by introducing a 3rd party streamer but I've been waiting for a new generation Apple TV (for ages, but that's another story).

Thanks. I was in the market for a TV for our outside screened in porch. $400 seems like a decent gamble considering the specs.

According to this thread:

Input lag is a serious concern and there are other limitations.

"I purchased this TV when it was on sale at B&H Photo and am using it for PC and Steam Deck gaming. If you can get it on sale, it's a good bargain but there are some caveats. Supposedly it's an LG OLED panel with third-party / Chinese electronics.
First, it does support 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, VRR and 120hz. I have an NVIDIA GPU and it works with G-Sync, although I believe the TV is only advertised as being FreeSync compatible (VRR doesn't work with the Steam Deck). When you're running at 4K 120hz with VRR on, HDR will not turn on. In addition, when you're running 4K at 120hz, output is limited to YCbCr420; there is no way to enable anything higher when you're in 4k @ 120hz. I'm using an HDMI cable certified by the HDMI Forum for HDMI 2.1 support too.
Second, 60hz input lag from computer is not great. My Steam Deck while docked is not bad running at 60hz, but the input lag is noticeable if you're trying to use it as a PC monitor and moving the mouse. 120hz input lag is really low, however.
Third, don't expect any firmware updates. I haven't received any. The TV runs Google TV but it's an older version when compared to my BRAVIA 8. The settings are extremely bare bones and there's really no way to calibrate anything here. You can't do anything other than basic adjustments like color temperature, brightness, motion handling, etc.
I have a Roku Ultra and 4K Blu-ray player hooked up and it has very good image quality / upscaling when watching movies or TV shows; even low-res content isn't bad.
If you're looking for a dedicated PC monitor, you'll want to get something that can do 120hz with YCbCr444 and HDR enabled and has extremely low input lag. I have a regular monitor that I use for PC work."
I have this TV and everything mentioned in the reddit comment is mostly true. The only corrections I have are to the lack of updates (I just got an update 3 weeks ago that updated it to Android 14) and the lack of picture adjustments. There is a hidden (you have to scroll past the end) picture mode called "Personal" that lets you adjust sharpness, brightness, saturation, hue, contrast & gamma in addition to the stuff mentioned in the post. Pretty great TV once I removed the Google TV launcher, but I admittedly don't game where input lag would be important.

I just unexpectedly got an update 3 weeks ago for this TV that updated it to Android 14 and performance seems slightly better, but have you tried using a 3rd party launcher? Projectivity is my preferred option, but it helps a lot with the performance.

There are 4 total, but I've heard conflicting info about how many of them support 4k 120hz. At least with the update I got recently they seem to have fixed the HDMI EDID reporting so connected devices will know the TV can do 4k 120hz. It now lets me choose between Auto, EDID 1.4 & EDID 2.1, but I haven't done a lot of testing.

I bought this when it was posted on here around February for $499.

If you're just looking for a spare TV for a bedroom, loft, etc - this is a crazy good price for an OLED panel. But that's kinda it for the pros.

If you're wanting this as your main TV, I would recommend spend a bit more for something better.

Brightness Level - great in dark rooms, decent (but a bit low) in well lit rooms, HDR is not good and too dark.
Software - slow af (you will want to beat your head on the wall), recommend pairing with an external streaming device, extremely limited in terms of what you can do to adjust picture settings
Hardware - remote is IR so you must point it at the tv for it to work, speakers get loud but quality is maybe a 5/10

tldr; great price for an OLED Panel, everything else is frustratingly bad. Am I happy with it? Yes, for my use case. Would I buy another one? No
Only when turning the TV on does it use IR for me. Maybe its using IR as a fallback because you didn't connect the remote correctly via Bluetooth? It shows up in the Bluetooth menu as "Smart Remote" on mine and I have no issues with range or pointing. Just have to put the remote in pairing mode by pressing the home and back button together. I agree the speakers suck

After the update, can it output 4k 120hz YCbCr444 when hooked to PC (using the correct HDMI 2.1 port)?
Thanks
