Pretty hiked up prices for factory conditioned 6 year old hardware.

Not all of it is factory conditioned. The iPad mini 6 is brand new and comes with 1 year Apple warranty. I was able to get an extra 35$ off the price because I logged into woot through my Amazon account. I figure this is a good upgrade over the mini 5 because next year the next mini is probably gonna cost 799 if it comes with an OLED panel. Currently refurbished beat up and scratched iPad mini's are selling at minimum 310$. So for a brand NEW iPad for 315 even though it's older is fine. It's plenty to run the next couple years of IpadOS generations.

Most of the heavily discounted iPads including the "new" iPad mini 6 are almost/over 5 years old. And most of them are also refurbished. Apple supports these devices for 5-8 years. They will be obsolete in the near future.

I've been looking for an 11" ipad pro. Is $350 a decent deal for 6 year old "factory reconditioned" with 1 year Apple warranty?

Apple has committed to fully complying with age verification laws, meaning that they will eventually require gov't ID and facial recognition to identify yourself and prove your age, purportedly to protect the children.
Of course, age verification isn't really to protect the children but to be able to censor you for what you say online. Better to gradually leave the Apple, Android, and Microsoft ecosystems now, moving to LINUX on computers and GrapheneOS on Android-capable hardware.

Well considering the iPad mini 5th gen supports iPad os 26 and is closer to an iPhone XS and iPad os 26 is the last update for it. The mini 6 should receive updates for the next 3-4 years. It's certainly not an end of life product. It's the same spec as an iPhone 13. And keep in mind, Apple kinda got stagnated the next two generations of devices like iPhone 14 and 15, the cpu performance didn't improve that much, iPhone 16 finally saw a sizeable jump and that's around when the mini 7 came out. But where are you gonna find a brand new mini 7 for 300$ lol.

Also this one isn't refurbished. It says it's brand new. So either woot is lying or they really have a brand new never been used version that comes with one year Apple warranty. Right now the cheapest refurb iPad mini 6 I can find is about 310$ and just assume the battery is toast.

lol. Yeah try to convince grandma and the average person to do that. I guess you didn't see the most recent Linus tech tips Linux challenge. Not exactly user friendly still. Also most android based tablets aren't anywhere near as nice as the cheapest of iPads. Screen quality, speakers, performance, it's not even close. Unless your getting a high end galaxy tablet and even then your back in this 800$ price range where... your not shopping around on woot for a deal lol.

Which iPad Pro? To be honest I don't think the pro models gain you much. I think you would be better off looking for an Apple silicon M series iPad Air than a 6 year old pro model.

IT's true that people want way too much for ipads on marketplace now. Which one of these would be great for 11 year old who just wants to chat and call their friends over wifi mostly and watch occasional videos?
