Grown adults probably want the larger size. Otherwise you'll be filling it a lot. Unless you need to fit it in your bike bottle holder I personally would go larger.

This size I buy for my 8 year old.

Great deal for a reasonably sized water bottle. I take this when i travel or need something a little smaller than my much larger yeti or owala. It's practically the perfect size. Smaller than yeti 26 but holds almost as much.

I like this size for traveling, anything else gets pretty large to tote around easily in backpack pockets and cupholders.

I have both the 24 oz FreeSip and the Sway. The Sway's tapered shape definitely fits car cup holders better, and I prefer its handle. But if you're traveling or carrying it in a backpack, I still think the 24 oz FreeSip wins since it slides into backpack side pockets much more easily. I end up using each for different situations.
