Amazon Fresh Espresso Medium Roast capsules are a very cheap convenience option for Nespresso Original machines, especially when the Subscribe and Save and buy 4 discounts stack to bring 200 capsules under $25. The aluminum pods and variety pack presentation are practical perks, and the low price makes them easy to justify for quick morning coffee or backup use. The main tradeoff is taste, which is repeatedly described as weak, stale, or worse than official Nespresso pods. A reasonable pick if price and convenience matter more than espresso quality.

Common Questions (3)

  • They are cheaper than official Nespresso pods, but the coffee quality is reported as a tradeoff for convenience and price. Some describe the taste as similar to Starbucks Nespresso pods or like stale office coffee, while others say they get the job done if you keep expectations modest.

  • The deal can stack with Subscribe & Save and the buy-4 10% off promotion. Four 50-count boxes came out to about $21.54 before tax, or roughly $22 shipped, and 200 capsules can land under $25.

  • Most capsules reportedly work fine, but a small number can have construction issues. One report mentioned about 5 bad capsules out of 300+ used, so the main risk is occasional pod defects rather than widespread failure.

I have the same maker and have to ask, have you found a compatible reusable pod for the normal coffee pods? Every company I've contacted says theirs isnt.
You must have lost the reusable pod that came with the maker. That's most unfortunate as the part does seem to be rare/scarce. I'm almost tempted to give you mine as I never use it but I would like to have the option.

Have you tried contacting Instant Pot CS [instantpot.com]? In my experience it's truly excellent; I will never forget how they gave me a brand new large capacity upgraded air fryer for the tiny model that started to rust inside where the removable basket goes. Asking CS is worth a shot IMO; good luck.

That is EXACTLY what I thought. . . "How bad could they be?". This is a really good price but anyone feeling bad about missing the deal. Don't! If you enjoy a good cup of coffee, this is not it. I ended up tossing most. I kept them for a while as my 3rd cup of coffee or mixing flavored protein powder, iced, collagen. . . my emergency I am out of other coffee! My one positive comment (other than price and that they are aluminum) - the variety pack looked nice in my coffee jar! Smilie
IMO it can't be that bad and overall it's highly likely it will be acceptable if you have reasonable expectations. If you like to think of yourself as a coffee connoisseur then you are not messing around with pods or kcups after all.

You have to remember you are sacrificing overall quality for convenience and price. I just saw on SD a 50 count package of official Nespresso pods for $30 reduced from $45 just to give you an idea on the amount that you are saving here...

I still have it just hoping there was a metal alternative out there.

I agree with you! "Reasonable expectations". One piece I left out was that I bought 100 pods. (Done this more than once with good prices and PSA: Do NOT buy 100 of something you haven't tried!) 😊 I appreciate a good cup of coffee, but cannot justify a De'Longhi or Breville espresso machine. (Tempted everytime I see one on SD!) Realistically, most of us have Nespresso or a Keurig for convenience and speed. I am not making espresso at 5:00 a.m.! 😊

Helpful response Guy767. If anyone was able to get at this price, then good deal! (and if this shows up again, post thoughts!)

Yes. It can be that bad. I'm not a coffee snob, but these made me not want to drink coffee. It tastes like the last half cup that's been sitting in the office carafe all day because the last guy didn't want to make a fresh pot.
