I'm guessing they lowered the price of this leverless arcade controller to compete with the Qanba Sapphire (https://qanbausa.com/sapphire/). For the price, I'd still choose the Sapphire since it brings a better value to the table. Especially since the Sapphire can be found used for ~$150ish.
