I have the similar Asus version of this monitor but in the 39" version. I love it for gaming (the main reason I got it) but text on the desktop looks awful at this resolution on a huge screen. There's also color fringing on the text. Be prepared to be disappointed for anything that's not gaming.
My laptop with a 16" 3K OLED looks gorgeous for everything. I would recommend going for higher DPI if you can.

I would agree. I've got an Acer Predator OLED X39 for gaming and it's incredible for that... and that only. I'm not overly picky on pixel density but it's noticeable on monitors at this size and resolution. If you want to escape that issue, go 4K but that comes with its own set of challenges.
I have the 950 version of this monitor -- 5k2k resolution -- and LOVE it. Need to buy a second for another desk and just hoping I can find a working 10% or 15% off code for the Partner Store while it's on sale at its usual $1349 discounted price. (The FREEDOM10 code doesn't work...)
If you can swing it, go for the 5k2k 950.
