This is not as low as the $1000 price from a few months ago, but I have been keeping an eye on this machine and this is the lowest it's been in a while. The same spec on Dell's website is $1789 (with the exception of Windows Pro vs. Home).

I plan to put in an extra SSD and use this for photo editing - should be powerful enough for my needs.

In the current economy, this feels like a good deal. Now I wait for the Slickdeals community to tear me apart. 😂

True, there's both types. The 8 GB is worth $100-150 less than the 16 GB. If it was a 16 GB, it would be a great deal. As is, it's whatever

5060 TI can be spec'ed out for either 8 or 16 GB. Agree that selling a TI card with gimped RAM just doesn't make sense

Yeah. Makes it annoying to search. Dunno why they did that. 5070 TI is very clear. Maybe they have done this before but I just didn't know. 16GB is really minimum

Do you think it's needed for photo editing? For context, my current machine is a 10 year old Dell XPS! So from my perspective, anything will be an improvement! I'm hoping to get at least 5 years out of this machine.

I do not know this answer as I don't edit photos or use those kind of apps.

Whats your monitor? How many monitors? Does your current XPS have a video card?

I'd venture to say you shouldnt need a video card for photo editing and "regular" monitors. If you have more than 1 4k monitor, you may want a video card that supports the resolution that you have.

This deal didn't last long. I kinda wish I had pulled the trigger when these were $999.99
