The 11-inch iPad Pro M5 is being treated as a premium tablet deal, especially after Apple raised prices and pushed the same model to $1,200 on its site. The appeal is the M5 chip, extra RAM, Wi Fi 7, and faster memory bandwidth, with some also pairing the purchase with Amazon card cash back or slow delivery discounts to bring the effective price closer to $800. The main hesitation is value, since the price still feels steep and prior iPad Pro models like the M4 or M2 Pro are seen as already fast enough for many tasks. It stands out most for buyers who want the newest spec bump before prices climb further.
Tablet-first shoppers who need more headroom than an M4, because the M5 adds RAM that may help with future multitasking and heavier apps.
Yes. The Amazon price is effectively about $100 below Apple's old EDU-style pricing and far below Apple's new $1,200 list price for the same 256GB Wi‑Fi model, making it roughly 25% off after the increase. That also means Amazon may not hold this price for long if it follows Apple's hike.
The M4 is still a strong choice if you want to save money, since it's described as future-proof and not short on computing power for typical use. The M5 mainly adds more RAM, Wi‑Fi 7, and faster memory bandwidth, so it makes more sense if you want the newer spec bump and plan to keep it longer.
Yes. The deal has been paired with about 7% to 8% back on Amazon cards, and one purchase also qualified for no-rush shipping. That can bring the effective cost down meaningfully, especially when combined with the sale price.
$100 off the iPad Pro is essentially Apple's EDU pricing for the rest of us. But yeah, this model spends more time "on sale" at $899 on Amazon than full retail.
I bought this yesterday with the extra 7% Cash Back on my Amazon Store Card, and today apple announced price increases in effect 9AM EST this same exact model is now $1200 on Apple's website. Not sure how long until Amazon increases their price.
It is great deal now. Apple has increased prices. This is $1200 now
Although I'd argue that regardless of the price increase, make sure the $900 is still within your budget. Don't buy it just because the price went up, as that only reinforces these companies' choices. They should be at our mercy, not the other way around. No one else cares about your budget but you.

Amazon showing 8% back with Prime Visa and No-Rush shipping, matching the $827 for a "Used - Like New" from Amazon Resale that has been in and out of stock the past few days. Probably as good a deal we'll see unless (until?) AI price inflation reverses at some point. There's also the M4 iPad Pro at Target for $799 minus 5% with Red Card if you're okay with the prior generation model.
Best Buy will take my m2 pro 13" for $500. Will upgrade to the m5 11" before the price increases. The additional 8% prime slow delivery will make this almost $800. After 4 years a $300 upgrade is worth it before the massive price increases.
M5 has more RAM than M4 but I've never felt my M4 pro to be short on any computing power. If you're in the market for an ipad, I'd panic buy the M4 as I think it will be pretty future proof and is a great device. However, it's still expensive and a laptop would be better for most use cases.

I went with the M5 and more RAM because that's a big difference in RAM and might not be a big issue now but could in the future... and the price wasn't really that much more... also M5 has Wi-Fi 7 and faster memory bandwidth.
I also got 8% back on my Amazon Store Card. Don't know why they seem to be jumping around between 7% and 8% back.
