They are only right handed because majority of people are right handed and for hundreds of years there only existed the handle on right side.
If flights were cheaper I'd fly across country and pick up a couple dozen of these

The best way I can explain it is that the torque needed to reel is always best done by your dominant hand. The "lefties" users always argue that you need your dominant hand to set the hook, yet when they're reeling, they look like a lost kid with their super weak left handed reeling. You can always use your body as leverage to set the hook, no one sets it free hand.
Plus, I can use both reels with almost the same skill.
Left handed users cannot do the same. Everyone in my group are lefties, and they can't reel a right handed reel to save their life 🤣
This is of course bass fishing though. Never fished saltwater so I can't comment on much on that.
I also use a lefty spinning reel, but the reeling motion of spinning reels is much larger and feels more comfortable.
