In my opinion, if you are going to keep a printer for a while, get a tank-style printer where you refill with a bottle of cheap ink (any brand, even compatible ink). The printer costs a bit more upfront, but if you use a printer enough, you will wind up saving money with a tank-style (which typically comes with 1-3 years of ink IN THE BOX).
Just checked, and here's the RIP OFF: HP wants $73 for a black cartridge that only prints 1000 pages and color cartridges are only 800 pages (and this is with the EXTENDED cartridges that are double the pages of the regular cartridges). Also, this printer comes with "starter" cartridges that are far less than the regular, so expect to be shelling out $200 for a set of ink VERY SOON.

Also, DO NOT buy into their Instant Ink subscription. They will brick your printer. Even though you pay for the printer, HP thinks they're the true owners and you are just the renter.
That was the case even with Canon.
One fine day, printer says "replace Ink Head:.
Ink Head costs more than the price of the printer.
Now throw away perfectly working AIO device that was perfect for document scan.

If you agree to have the ink delivered, then you are out of luck.

($34.90) at the time for all 4 aftermarket ink cartridges.
It comes with a special tool, when you buy the factory ink cartridges and they go empty, you use it to move the factory HP chip onto the aftermarket cartridge, I've done this 3 times so far for all the colors and black, for the total I had one issue with magenta and had to get another chip other than that this is the way forward.
