I have the same model, it takes forever to set up the WIFI, its hard to do it only with the printer screen, it doesn't come with a cable in case you wanna use a cable for faster set up you will need to buy it. Also the ink is not worth it. each cartridge is $25, so both use $50. The ones coming with the printer only last for a few dozens. I replace it with a Brother laser printer, and in 3 years I'm still using the original toner which by factory has 2,000 printed pages. I only pay $69 on walmart for my laser printer. Best decision ever, since its cheaper than buying cartridges.

I wouldn't take an HP printer if it was given to me for free. Awful printers accompanied by awful business practices.

Slow AF but gets the job done. Honestly worth it at this price considering that it costs basically the same as the ink.

How does 3 month Instant Ink work? Do they ship new ink and I need to return empty cartridges?

Does this require subscription? And can I use generic inks? If yes to either question, then this printer and everyone who designed it to be that way should burn in hell

I appreciate all of the comments.
Yesterday I ordered an Epson printer for my mom for about $55
She's 70, retired, and really just wanted something basic but we're in different states and I was worried about her being able to set it up.
The price on this sounds good, but after the comments I think I made the right purchase.

In 2026 who would ever buy an HP printer. People getting alerts that they can't use the scanner because they're out of ink. No scanner without ink? Forcing you to buy ink and heavily pushing their subscription service. I'll stick with Brother.

Is the scanner free to use? Or do I need to have ink in order to scan?

Posted this in a different thread and I'll repeat it here...

Do not buy HP printers. The HP CEO has made it the company's mission to turn all their printers into subscription services.

If you want an inkjet printer, buy a Canon or an Epson. You will be infinitely better off.

I'll never subscribe to an HP printer again, I'm sticking with Epson or Brother where I own the ability to print.
