Community Reviews
This AcuRite wireless fridge and freezer thermometer is a practical way to keep tabs on aging appliances and catch temperature problems early. It has strong range, with the display staying connected even when the freezer is on another floor, and the batteries can last for years. The alarm is useful, and the setup has helped prevent food waste. The main caveats are that clearing stored high and low readings is less intuitive, the two sensors can differ by about 2 to 5 degrees, and lithium batteries are a better fit for freezer use.
Shoppers using lithium batteries in cold spaces, because the freezer sensor runs well with lithium cells and battery life can last years.
Parents trying to catch fridge temperature swings early, because it can save food from spoiling and alert them before losses add up.
Homeowners who want a simple fridge-and-freezer alarm, because it works reliably for years and the alarm is easy to recognize once learned.
Households monitoring a freezer on another floor, because the signal stays strong even with the sensor about twenty feet away.
People who need exact matching temperatures between sensors, because the two probes can read about 2-5°F apart even side by side.
Home Assistant setups tracking multiple fridge sensors, because the sensor IDs can change after battery swaps and create MQTT topic conflicts.
Buyers who want an intuitive high-low reset, because clearing stored readings is less straightforward than on older models.

I have this one and the older model [amazon.com]. Clearing the stored high/low temperatures on this model is not as intuitive (the older model has a dedicated clear button) but it's easy enough to just to pop out a battery and put it back in.
For the sensors, I recommend paying the extra for lithium batteries especially if you're planning on dropping one or both in a freezer.

Same experience here, but I opted for the energizer lithiums, works great.
