Community Reviews
This AcuRite wireless fridge and freezer thermometer is a practical way to keep tabs on aging appliances and catch temperature problems early. It has strong range, with the display staying connected even when the freezer is on another floor, and the batteries can last for years. The alarm is useful, and the setup has helped prevent food waste. The main caveats are that clearing stored high and low readings is less intuitive, the two sensors can differ by about 2 to 5 degrees, and lithium batteries are a better fit for freezer use.
The main unit and freezer sensor batteries can last for years with regular use.
The wireless range can stay strong even when the freezer is on another floor.
The thermometer can help reduce food waste by catching fridge and freezer temperature problems early.
The display can be monitored remotely by placing it in view of a security camera.
Clearing stored high and low temperatures can be less intuitive than on older models.
The two sensors can show a 2-5°F difference even when placed next to each other.
Acurite sensors may cause MQTT topic conflicts because RTL433 auto-generates IDs after reconnects.
The alarm can be annoying if the alarm sound is not learned ahead of time.

I have this one and the older model [amazon.com]. Clearing the stored high/low temperatures on this model is not as intuitive (the older model has a dedicated clear button) but it's easy enough to just to pop out a battery and put it back in.
For the sensors, I recommend paying the extra for lithium batteries especially if you're planning on dropping one or both in a freezer.

Same experience here, but I opted for the energizer lithiums, works great.
