The Lenovo Yoga Tab stands out as a media and travel tablet with a sharp 3.2K display, built in kickstand, strong battery life, fast charging, and a keyboard that doubles as a cover. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 12GB of RAM make multitasking, web use, and even emulation feel smooth, while the included pen adds productivity value. The main limits are software longevity and expandability, since the storage cannot be expanded with microSD and the update window appears to end around Android 18 with security support through 2028 or 2029. It is a compelling all in one option if those tradeoffs are acceptable.

  • People who watch movies or read on a sharp LCD, because the higher-resolution screen and built-in kickstand make hands-free viewing easy.

  • Android power users who want a fast tablet for multitasking, because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 handles split-screen apps and the interface stays trouble-free.

  • Travelers wanting an all-in-one media and work tablet, because the battery lasts well, charges quickly, and the keyboard doubles as a cover.

  • Emulation hobbyists playing demanding games, because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a strong sweet spot for emulators.

  • People who need expandable storage, because it has no microSD slot.

  • Gamers pushing high-end graphics for long sessions, because the back panel around the CPU and battery can get very hot.

  • Buyers expecting an OLED display, because the screen is an LCD and looks inferior next to OLED panels.

  • People who want a fully featured premium Android tablet, because it lacks some tablet extras and feels less complete than higher-end alternatives.

This isn't the Yoga Tab 11 from 2021. This Yoga Tab has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, more than twice the performance of the A11+. There's a reason the A11+ is selling for $130-170...

Thanks OP!
We have a Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2. We liked it till we realize streaming apps have frame stutter at HDR/Vision/4k content otherwise it would have been perfect at $250....
Will be trying this, looking out for these issues

I don't this it has any further Android OS upgrades left.
Android 18 is the last it'll get, it's in the tech specs on the Lenovo page. So it'll get this year's Android 17 and next year's Android 18, plus security update till 2028.

The price is pretty compelling, it's $630 from Best Buy for those curious, so almost half retail.

It was launched at least 2 years ago if I am not mistaken. And I am sure initially it was only supposed to get 2 OS updates (A17) so glad that Lenovo has increased it to 3. But I had the impression the security updates would be till 2029. So they may have back paddled on security updates.

I could be wrong about the security update. If they updated the OS support another year, they probably will support security till 2029.

It's worth pointing out that the 8 Gen 3 here is a binned 6-core, instead of the usual 8.

The constant need to replace these things simply because they refuse to update the software..... Seems like a scam/scheme/money grabbing lie to me! BRAX offers a better option, maybe, depending on how you look at the whole scam/scheme/money grabbing lie to me! Android devices should always receive at the very least, security updates. I cannot get on board with throw-away devices simply because someone is too greedy or lazy to update their product. This should last security wise, at least a decade. If it cannot, then it's a garbage OS. Android is just Linux, don't tell me it cant be done! Linux runs just fine on 20 year old hardware, there is no good reason for these to be throw-away devices simply because manufacturers refuse to keep them up to date!

I am tempted to buy this, but I want it to work safely 5+ years from now. My current Samsung tab s7 is in the same boat. It's BS! The product still works fine, they just refuse to update it. Software should not dictate the lifespan of a product, especially when the end is in only 2 years from date of purchase!

I understand your frustration. It's why I've got this in the cart but haven't pulled the trigger yet even though I'm in the market for a new tablet as my iPad is from 2016. I'm open to try Android but what I'm finding makes them hard to consider. Interestingly, as old as my iPad is, Apple released a security update for it last month.

Yeah, I just can't do it. As much as I want/need an updated Android system, this is just another throw-away toy in no time. Maybe at some point I will finally try Apple. I've intentionally put them off due to price gouging for nothing special by comparison. But if you just received an update on a decade old machine, well, maybe it's not price gouging after all?

Apple has a history of supporting their devices long term while Android has a history of dropping support as soon as they can. When I had Android devices in the 2010s, 1 yr support was the standard. It's nice that Samsung and Google have upped that to 7 yrs, but it's still not the standard for the rest of Android, where it's typically 3 yrs of support when the hardware, as you mentioned, is probably capable of a decade worth of usage. It doesn't help that I'm not a fan of Samsung's One UI, hated it when I used it on a phone.

You pay more for Apple, there's no getting around that, but the overall experience feels better. Currently, my needs are sub-$500 price, 11 inch or smaller, decent performance, great display, doesn't need to be OLED, but it better be a top tier LCD and long updates, 5-7 yrs for OS and a few years after that for security.

It's bad to worse just everywhere I go. So I think I'm going to give BRAX a try. If that fails for any logical reason, then I will bite my tongue hard to finally bit the Apple.

in the specs under operating system, Lenovo says, "Androidâ„¢ 15, plus three upgrades through Androidâ„¢ 18."
You're right, I mixed it up with the plus version.

I have the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus version, and this basically has similar specs to the Plus. My use case has been using it for media consumption, web browsing, email, and playing emulated games on this tablet. It has been a really good experience. If you are looking for a simple media consumption device on the go, with some basic android UI and features, this is a great steal. If you are looking to have a fully featured item similar to Samsung Galaxy Tablets, then I would not go for this at all and rather save up your money on the more "premium" brand/tablets.

I will say, if you are planning to play emulated games, it is suggested to get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 minimum. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a good sweetspot for that. You can find onilne tutorials/explanations on how to get certain drivers/softwares to play them. Playing intensive higher end graphics, I noticed that the back panel of the CPU and battery do get really hot, as there's not a proper way to cool them down in this tablet casing, so make sure to lower resolution and graphics down. Just letting others know.

I'm late to the party, but you'll find the display inferior to the S7+. It's really hard to compete with an OLED screen. Otherwise, it's a comparable tablet. Lenovo used to have more OLED screens but have cut back for some reason.
