100% Cotton and "Moisture Wicking"?

I thought "Moisture Wicking" was a synonym for Polyester.

This six pack of Hanes cotton crew tee undershirts stands out as a very low priced basic layer, with the effective cost around $1.64 per shirt. The appeal is the simple white cotton build for wearing under work shirts, and the price has been called the lowest seen in years. The main caveats are that the moisture wicking claim is questioned for cotton, and there are concerns about thinner materials, counterfeit clothing on Amazon, and pricing that can jump from $9.80 to $15.95 at checkout. A budget undershirt option if the listing price holds and expectations stay modest.

cotton is moisture absorbing (hydrophilic), not wicking.

I don't buy any namebrand clothes from Amazon anymore. I've gotten stuff from there before that was clearly counterfeit and basically disintegrates if you try to wash it. And since they put the counterfeit product in the same bin as the real stuff no matter which seller you buy from you're not safe. Not even shipped and sold by Amazon.
