Keep an eye on Best Buy too. I was able to get an Excellent condition (return), M5 Air 13 (16GB/512GB) for $880 just yesterday.

Slight caution against the 256 gb storage. I've had one for years and it was fine, but the OS takes up so much that your actual user space is less than 100.

I agree, for long-term use, best to get 512GB or higher unless you're storing everything in the cloud. I've switched from a M1 Pro to the M4 Air 15" and it's working well. I do notice the slight drop in screen quality. Also, if you need prolonged processing, you can add cooling pads to the internals.
