Check your garage roof trusses. Some are not designed to bear loads like that.

Exactly. Depends on if you have residental trusses or storage trusses. Standard garage trusses is approximately rated at 10 pounds per square foot. That's if you are brave. 5 pound static load if you want to be safe. 10 feet x 5 lbs is 50 lbs. Standard 5/8 dry wall is 2.2 pound per square foot. If you have dry wall and insulation, you can hang this and nothing else.
