I love that the product listing mentions

"For enhanced security, this device prevents sideloading or installing apps from unknown sources. Only apps from the Amazon Appstore [amazon.com] are available for download."

They're really trying to push these gimped devices.

I'm also seeing the coupon bringing it down to $9.99. It's also eligible for no-rush shipping yielding a $2 digital credit and a bonus offer for a free month of Game Pass Ultimate.

Anyone who wants to use the device with any level of sophistication or other ability will be out of luck. If you just want it to make a TV smart or use a streaming service you pay for, its basic but functional.

I agree it's good for adding streaming to a TV that no longer has access to services or never had. I consider it adding YouTube, Tubi and Pluto to any TV the primary purpose and the rest is gravy for the paid services.
