At bare minimum get a bicycle helmet for this - at the speed these go (up to 28mph) a motorcycle helmet is more wise.

I've had the Segway ZT3 Pro for about a year and it has been a great scooter. No big issues. I occasionally need to tighten the stem, and regularly need to fill the tires. It's comparable to this scooter except it tops at 25 mph and is built for both paved roads and gravel. It does good on moderate hills but it does not achieve its stated incline ability on really steep hills. I live in Seattle on top of a steep hill so I have to go up and alternate route which works fine.

This one is a bit faster and has a stronger motor, but not as good for crappy roads.

Expect real world range with stop and go to be closer to half what is listed. If I am in sport mode, gunning it, and going up and down hills, I probably only get 25% of the stated range. If I am on a smooth bike trail and put it in a cruise control at 16 mph, I can get about 75% of the range. The only way you are going to get close to 100% of the range is in eco mode going like 9 mph.

The Segway app is excellent and you can enable things like regen breaking. It also does fairly regular firmware upgrades which are actually useful, although you will hear people complain because sometimes the upgrades change things like reduce acceleration but for the benefit of something else.

I do recommend that you change the charging capacity to 80% in the app because that is a lot healthier for the battery. If I'm doing a longer ride, then I will charge it to 100%.

Also, it is not good to charge a hot battery directly after I ride, so within the Segway app, while you can't set a charging delay, you can set the charging time so I sent mine to charge between midnight and 7:00 a.m. because I know I won't be using it then.

Overall, I have been very happy with Segway.
