Protondb reports it running great.....except for uplay problems but that is a constant Ubisoft problem. ProtonTricks or uninstall reinstall typically solves those issues. In my experience at least.

Personally I'm on the fence about it because I liked the combat of 1 and less the hacking part, this one appears to have far less combat in favor of more stealth and hacking (which TBH makes sense for the subject matter).

Never played a watch dogs game, Does this have offline? I know the gameplay is about hacking stuff but can you do the story solo or is it always online coop lobbies?

Yes solo single player works. The games open world is beautiful and truly awesome to cause chaos in.
