Its concave, that fits my criteria for a spoon. Spatulas should be flat. And I've never met a spatula that could be used to "shovel" jelly out of a jar Wink

Merriam Webster defines a spatula as :

spatula

noun

spat·u·la ˈspa-chə-lə

: a flat thin implement used especially for spreading or mixing soft substances, scooping, or lifting

Thanks for proving my point that this would need to be flat...which I mentioned, not concave nor "shovel" shaped to be a spatula by those obsessed with proper nomenclature. If you are going to be this needlessly pentadic, at least try harder Wink

P.S. Merriam Webster defines a spoon as: "an eating or cooking implement consisting of a small shallow bowl with a relatively long handle." And last I checked, bowls are concave...

Simply being concave does not define a utensil as a spoon.

A spoon requires a bowl, not just one concave surface.

A bowl has "just one concave surface" as well. And what spoons do you eat out of with multiple bowls at the end of them? A 'jigger' with a handle?
