Not sure why they still selling this type of label maker while you can get the niimbot, nelko brand that do much better and easier. Maybe this this for old school people ?!

Honest question - how does niimbot/nelko ones do it better?

I got the Brother P-touch PT-D610BT Business Professional Connected Label Maker With Bluetooth when it was on sale at $89.99 as I wanted the best features. Works by itself, BT and connected to my Mac.

I like to consider myself a veteran SD'er and pretty knowledgeable consumer and I am absolutely embarrassed to say I'd never heard of Niimbot or Nelko until your post 🤦 ♂️

TZe label is laminated and they can print on ribbon of any given length, I'm not aware of Niimbot/Neiko offering these features.

For what it's worth, most niimbots are direct thermal, not thermal transfer (like tze tape is) - direct thermal doesn't last as long before it fades (so I wouldn't put it in direct sunlight on something archival). That said, I recently got a phomemo direct thermal, and it's very convenient to have precut, rounded labels.

I've had this unit for about 4 years and I really like it. I have a whole bunch of ribbon/text combinations so that I can label normal stuff and dangerous/important stuff. I can tell you that it can be a little bit annoying to dig through menus to find symbols, but I always appreciate how many it has built-in. Overall a great label machine if you're not looking to have any PC interface or other fancy stuff. It runs on batteries or optional DC transformer plug and I got the case for it which is SUPER convenient.
