These are incredible, but FYI, Wiha and Hazett both have nice versions, too.

To me, they should come with the ratcheting screwdriver and maybe a more complete socket set. That would make it a truly versatile tool worth always having around.

What happened to the prices on these ? The older sets without the fancy color coding on the bits were 50ish 60ish on a good sale. I hope they fixed the durability of the cases though. I have the 1st iteration of the wera bit check and the bitdriver holder fell off and I needed to glue it back. I think this 3rd interation has a latch to hold the bit selection swivel in place. The 1st iteration has a spring loaded latch but the 2nd iteration I believe the selection swivel was held by friction which was a downgrade.
I have the older bitcheck plus and it is fantastic though I'd rather pay 10 extra for the hazet which i think is mostly made in germany.

Why do you think the Hazet is better?

This is a great set. Have the tool check plus and use it everyday at work. Well with the money depending on your profession of course. Not sure what the difference between the tool check plus 1 and 2 are though. Would buy this myself again but I need the SAE version and that one doesn't have a deal...

They have a reputation along with stahlwille for german mechanics. I think bmw and mercedes use hazet. They are kind of like the snap on of germany.
Wera seems to have better ergonomics though. I personally love their handles especially their t grip but they also get some hate too.

I have two sets (05056490001) as a field tech (X-Rays) I carry one in my lite tool bag, It's useful to me in about 80 percent of the work I do... too bad the price have gone through the roof on these.

Seems odd there is only one flathead screwdriver in the kit (as far as I can tell).
