I was watching the mini 7 but it rarely comes on sale anywhere near 400 and even then that's too expensive. And now with the price increase it's closer to 600$ and the new mini 8th gen is rumored to be even more expensive. Thanks partly to the ai apocalypse and also due to some screen upgrades. You have to remember the iPad mini for the first 5 generations never exceeded 300$ and suddenly everything is double that now, you might as well spend 500 and get an M series iPad Air. They are significantly more powerful than the mini 7 cpu. But the mini form factor is just preferable IMO.
Community Reviews
This iPad Mini 6 stands out as a compact cellular tablet for portability, especially at a new price that is close to used or refurbished mini 6 units. The cellular version is the main draw, and the smaller form factor remains the reason to choose the Mini over larger iPads. The aging A15 chip means no Apple Intelligence, and 64GB storage is a major limitation for apps, media, and updates. Support life also looks shorter than newer A17 or M series models, so it fits best when size and cellular matter most.
Common Questions (4)
No. The Mini 6 uses an A15 chip with 4GB RAM, and Apple Intelligence requires newer hardware such as the A17 Pro or M-series chips. If that feature matters, this model is not the right pick.
64GB is tight for this model because usable space drops after formatting and the factory OS, leaving limited room for apps, media, and update downloads. It can become a problem if you keep offline files or want to install larger iPadOS updates.
The cellular model is the main reason this deal stands out, since the cheapest iPad Mini 7 cellular is much higher at around $749. It is most compelling if you specifically need cellular connectivity; otherwise the aging A15 hardware and 64GB storage are the main drawbacks.

The 64GB of storage is the biggest problem... I had the 64GB version of the mini 5 and I could not update: There's actually only about 30-35GB of space on the device after formatting loss and the factory OS. If you have a couple of apps and some movies/songs downloaded, there will not be enough space left over to download and unpack updates.
