I mean if you are doing all of that on your current machine, this is unquestionably an upgrade. Like, a big one. Either way, if that is the machine you currently use, PLEASE BUY THIS.
Oh yeah totally agree an upgrade was a must but was debating on which one to get, at the end I bought the vivobook 16 flip https://www.ebay.com/itm/298227364968 just got it today, and so far so good, I think it is a pretty good deal also.

Received mine today. Battery appears to have been replaced. Required a lot of firmware, driver and other updates. So far so good.

Showed up this week in great shape. Says refurbed by dell financial services, looks better than the ones by fedex dell often sells.

91% drive life is kind of a bummer (my last refurbis from dell outlet were 97-100), battery has 8% wear which is ok but not a fresh swap.

Thermals are decent with the 12800h/a1000 4gb. Great screen (igzo 16:10 4k+ touch)

Bought a "Grade A" refurb and the top cover/palmrest are covered by vinyl(to cover up scratches/scuffs?).. is this the case with others?

Yes, had the same sticker/cover on the one I received. It's in pretty good condition though.

i bought three of these and didn't have much luck. One 32GB touch model has an intermittent screen flicker that shows up as soon as you boot into UEFI/Diagnostics, so not a windows/driver issue. The other two (one 16GB non-touch and one 32GB 4K) have pretty bad batteries with over 100 cycles and 79% and 59% battery health.

If you contact Dell they will likely help with the battery issues. I've purchased a Precision 5540 and 5560 from the refurb site. In both cases they addressed issues I had with replacement unit.

Received mine the other day, grade A though it's covered in vinyl, has light scratches and some goo on it, as well as a shallow dent in the bottom. Keyboard looks to have been replaced as does the battery.

Anyone having issues with the 3.5mm jack recognizing headphones? They only seem to be recognized when plugged in after a boot or when the Realtek driver is disabled/reenabled. I think a Realtek or Maxxaudio or some piece of software is missing.

Solution: Realtek Audio Console was included on these laptops in ~2022 and is needed to notice when a device is plugged into the jack. The application has since become unavailable (the Microsoft Store version is corrupt) and since Dell wiped these during the refurb process the application is missing. I found an older version online and upon install of that all works well again.

I received a precision advertished as grade A, but came with severely bent heatsink fins in the back, and a bent frame over the grills (it hits the lid frame if I open the lid too much to the back (I can open the lid, it just grates against the bent frame). Is this the norm for refurbs? Pics attached. Wondering whether to return it.

The rubber strip at the bottom is coming off, but I think that's an easy fix. Battery has about 260 cycles and about 70% capacity remaining.

Pics attanched.
