This is an amazing monitor for a bright setting but less ideal for darker rooms. I have it facing a window and it's ideal because it gets incredibly bright and the anti-glare coating works very well. It's bright enough for HDR to be very impactful, but be aware that HDR is locked to 100% brightness, which can be annoying if playing at night because it's just too bright. The one big downside is that there's a lot of light glow around anything with a dark background. It's not something you notice much while playing games or watching videos, but it's annoying when you notice it. I expected that to be much more controlled considering the number of light zones, but the glow zone around anything is huge. Contrast is good because highlights are so bright, but don't expect OLED levels of darkness. I've actually found it most enjoyable in SDR at around 20-30% brightness. That's where I think it most resembles an OLED, but really where it shines is with impressive highlights and in a bright room.
