Withings has something similar which is wildly expensive, what does the withings do that this doesn't?
The Withings uses impedance cardiography (for your heart) along with bioimpedance spectroscopy (for your body) for the measurements, while the GE simply uses dual frequency bioimpedance spectroscopy.
These can be quite a bit off if your hydration is not spot on, but the ones with the hand-held sensors are worlds better than the ones with just the foot sensors.

YMMV but I find Bluetooth-only smart devices quite finicky when it comes to sync'ing your measurements. You have to go get your phone, open up the (crappy) 3p app, manually force a data refresh, half the time the Bluetooth connection fails so you have to re-pair with the device... who's going to go through all that every time they step on a scale.
The Withings and some other devices have the ability to sync over WiFi in the background, which is still a bit fragile but at least doesn't require you to open up the phone app every time.

I got the pricier version for $95 with the coupon. Upon opening, the electrode metal piece on the handlebar separated. I was able to stick it back on, but definitely was not a great sign of quality control.
I would get the Withings when it goes on sale. But either one would be fine. The trick is to be consistent with when you weigh yourself, like first thing in the morning before coffee or right after work. Your hydration levels are usually about the same if you have a routine. That way you can get a usable trend of data points to track your measurements. These are not that useful if you're not actively trying to change your body. If you're just keeping an eye on your body as it is, then spring for a DEXA scan every year or two; it's about $100 for me, and if you wait to make another appointment, some places will send you a discount to get you to come back in.
