Citizen's Eco-Drive Weekender Garrison is a simple field watch that stands out for low maintenance, solid everyday wear, and a clean 37 to 38 millimeter size. The solar Eco-Drive movement keeps it running with light, and long-term wear holds up well, even in rough settings like kitchens and breweries. The main knocks are the olive nylon strap, which feels cheap and wears out, and the mineral crystal, which scratches more easily than sapphire. It is a practical, set and forget watch with easy strap upgrade potential.

  • Owners who plan to swap straps, because the 18mm lug width accepts easy replacements and aftermarket bracelets or rubber bands work well.

  • Field-watch wearers who want a low-maintenance daily piece, because Eco-Drive keeps it running with light and the watch can go months without attention.

  • Smaller-wrist buyers who like a compact field watch, because the 37-38mm case wears comfortably and fits wrists under about 7.25 inches.

  • People who wear a watch hard at work, because it keeps working after years of scratches in kitchens and breweries.

  • People who dislike replacing straps, because the included nylon band is repeatedly described as poor and prone to wearing out.

  • Buyers who want a scratch-resistant crystal on a watch meant for rough use, because the mineral crystal can scratch easily.

  • Wearers expecting a larger, more substantial field watch, because the case runs small and can feel thin.

  • Shoppers who want a premium-feeling case finish, because the watch can feel cheap and scratch up easily.

Mineral crystal glass which is more prone to scratching. For this price I'd expect sapphire crystal especially on a watch that is ment to get banged up.
$134 you expect sapphire? Maybe from AliExpress

I've had this watch for a bout a year and I love it! The original band didn't fit me well, but I got a stainless steal bracelets (18mm) and it's been great! The eco drive keeps it running all the time, and it's simple and clean design. The lume isn't great but gets bright for a bit after being in the sunlight.

Bought his watch in 2019 and still wearing it, it's the perfect size for me. Switched the band to a stainless steel bracelet off of amazon and it looks better imo.

Got this piece a while back and put a screen protector on it. Bang it up all the time, no scratches on the crystal.
My brain is trapped in its own tiny box. I never would have thought to do that with a regular watch, so simple!

You know what. You're right I couldn't find a better watch with sapphire crystal. I bought this anyways because it has a 18mm lug length which fits perfectly with my Fitbit Air as a NATO.

Idk it doesn't feel like a Timex Weekender or Casio, feels heavy and slick.

Cmon watch crowd- what's the deal with this deal? Good watch or no?
It's solar powered+ (also recharges from non UV light sources so set and forget. 6 month power reserve but you'd have to be in a black box to not recharge. Accuracy is +-2 seconds a month (personal experience. Strap sucks but $20 on amazon will get you a great alternative. 38mm fits most wrists under 7.25in. 100m of WR so you can go for a swim where most other field watches at this price are 50m (splash resistance). Mineral crystal but it's a field watch not a dress piece. You can buff out scratches on mineral anyways.Am loving mine so far. Would recommend with a black rubber strap from Amazon for $20.

Good deal but have heard the band sucks.
You would be correct, band sucks. Bought last year from jomashop with coupon on a SD i think for $99. Found some silicone bands on Amazon haul for under $5. One was a fitbit replacement that fit perfect. I like it but wouldn't have paid much more and thought it was still a deal.

I concur that the band sucks, it works until it breaks just like any soft band will. I switched it out to a Citizen OEM steel band that matched the same size and had been working great until the clasp locking mechanism wore loose. Overall, steel band lasted probably 8x-10x longer than the soft band. Would recommend again.

I've had this watch for 5+ years. No issues, but the band stinks. Was easy to replace.

I have it. It doesn't wear as small as you'd expect a 37mm watch to wear. I have big wrists and big forearms, and it is an acceptable size. For an average man, it'll wear fine. Band isn't my first choice, but it is a field watch, so in that sense, it makes sense. Overall solid deal, although I paid much less for mine.

eco drive is best no need maintenance!!
Uh...I can't tell if your comment is a troll, a joke, or not! In order to acquire a premium watch with a Sapphire Crystal, it is typically in the $500 range, not anywhere in the $100.
