This Ryobi bundle stands out most for the batteries and the cordless convenience, with the stick vacuum offering strong suction for quick whole house cleanup on hard floors and tile. The removable Ryobi battery is a practical plus if you already use the platform, and the kit math makes the battery pack look like the better value. The vacuum can clog filters quickly, especially on carpet, and the motor head and replacement parts raise durability concerns. It feels like a solid fit when battery sharing matters and floor type is mostly hard surfaces.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. It is reported to work well for whole-house use on hardwood and tile, with strong suction for a cordless 18V vacuum. It is also described as handy for quick pickups in large homes with pets and traffic.

  • Yes. Returning the batteries leaves the vacuum at about $95 to $96 plus tax, which makes the vacuum portion much cheaper if you do not need the extra batteries.

  • Yes. It uses a removable Ryobi ONE+ battery, so you can swap in batteries already used across the Ryobi ecosystem. That makes it easier to keep running than a vacuum with a proprietary battery.

  • It can clog more on carpet, especially with the higher-power model. The stronger suction is described as better suited to tile or hardwood, while carpet use may cause more jamming.

  • The filters are washable mesh and can be cleaned in a washing machine, but they can clog quickly with dust. Replacement filters are also available on eBay.

How does this compare to a Dyson DC8 or similar?

Not even close. Professional reviews on this vac are abysmal. I have an OLD Dyson, and really just wanted this for quick pickups in the basement, but by comparison to even old models of Dyson, this vac is a very poor substitute. I took the first one back, thinking maybe I just got a bad one, but nope, the second one was no better. I bought it because it was a "slick deal", but I ended up returning it to HD.
LOL nah... I had the Animal V6. This is fine and has a removable battery that's ubiquitous throughout Ryobi. If the Dyson batt goes bad, bye bye vacuum.

$94.24 for vacuum
$84.76 for 2x 4ah & 1x 2ah HP batteries plus single charger
I'd say the batteries is the better deal if you need more of them.

Interested in this because I'm already in the Ryobi ecosystem and need a new stick vac. I currently have an LG CordZero from a few years ago and I don't like it at all. It's decent on carpet but on hard floors it kicks out anything larger than a grain of rice, it's maddening. Anyone know if the Ryobi does any better in this department?
I bought this Ryobi Pet Stick Vacuum in 2024 and use it almost exclusive on hardwood. It works fine for me and I'm satisfied with it but honestly I don't give it much thought beyond appreciating how handy it is having a cordless vac.

With a screwdriver or your fingers? And does Dyson sell leaf blowers, impact drivers, or recip saws where I can use those same batteries?

Quit shilling for a device in the hundreds of dollars.

Is this as strong/good as Dyson?
I say yes.. For the price, and I would argue basically this has enough performance, this Ryobi is way more than good enough for us. Is it as good in every possible way as Dyson. Depends on the Dyson model and your brand religion. Wife says the Ryobi the one she likes on the half of the house with tile and hard floors and I can't argue with that. We've used a Dyson, I think it was a v6, and a couple others over the years. It was ok, but battery cost / life was eventually an issue. The brushless Ryobi model has hit the sweet spot on cost for performance. Being able to swap batteries with ones in the garage is gold. We use it in a large house with busy traffic, kids, and two dogs that shed a lot. Bought a second one for backup because we like it so much. Put the old one in the RV.

Go back to arguing in the earwax removal tool thread (haha). You're out of your depth, here.

I had. Good if new. The motor head breaks easily. No way to buy replacement head. You can see on ebay there are many people selling half unit without head.

Whoa! Looking up post histories. What a pro!

I'm not the one that posted Dyson batteries were irreplaceable. But go on. Ha ha

These are absolute garbage. We went through two in less than 6 months . Never should have bought the 2nd, though in our defense, we thought the first was a fluke.

Lots of cheap, moving parts, that clog, break, jam, and malfunction.

They work fairly well - when they work. Which isn't for long.
