This bundle is mainly a compact 99.2Wh USB power station paired with a 30W solar panel, and the panel is the standout feature. Real-world reports put the panel near 30W in direct sun, around 23 to 24W when aimed well, and much lower in heavy cloud or poor placement. The power station itself is LiFePO4 and USB only, with no AC inverter, which keeps it small and useful for phones, routers, and other low power gear. The free shipping code can be finicky, but browser changes have made it work. A practical pick if you want simple USB backup and solar charging in a small package.

  • The solar output can drop to single-digit watts in heavily overcast or storm-cloud conditions.

  • The solar panel's real output depends heavily on placement and angle, with near-zero results in some indoor or shaded setups.

  • The unit's USB-C to 7909 adapter connection can snap after about a month of use.

  • The listing may be incomplete on included charging accessories, since it appears to include only the solar panel and USB-C cable.

It's great output. The panel is 30W, not 100
My mistake, that means these run as advertised! I see a 100w panel at woot for $60 but that seems way bulkier than this. Would still work great for camping though.

Mine snapped like this too. Poor design, but an easy $5 fix.
How did you fix it?

how bad of an idea is it to keep this in a car or truck bed..., i know it will degrade faster. thinking of having it for persistent charging when car is off, or to power some low power devices like mobile internet router or sbc
Should be fine. Just keep it away from freezing temperatures.

What's the step up from this? Say under $100, what's going to be higher quality, more output, etc?
Look for Ecoflow River 2 refurbished units on eBay when they go on sale for under $100.

An even better step is a refurbished River 3 Plus, but they are even more money.

Important thing to take note. You must have a 100W charger if you want to charge this from a wall outlet. According to the linked website, this unit comes with the solar panel and USB-C charging cable only. No mention of a charger.

I'd rather it come with a rigid solar panel.
And a 12V output would be good.

FYI the code also applies to the membership shipping option which takes $8.99 off your order and gives you 30 days of free shipping from their select vendors. Once you place the order you can cancel the membership and keep the discount.

Just got mine today. FWIW, brought it outside with the sun directly overhead, not a single cloud in the sky. Got around 24W from the solar panel.

Form factor is compact for the capacity and nice that you can take it on the plane if needed.

I was able to get 23W aiming the panels at an angle nearly perpendicular* to the sun in sunny-with-some-clouds NYC (*more-or-less, as I was aiming the panels by hand through the window opening over a windows air conditioner, through window security bars). So I can trust the 30W rating.

Right now it is laid flat on top of a windows AC (outdoors), with portions toward the house shaded, and getting 5-7W (update: getting 8-17W at 11am). 30+% of the panel is dangling in the air because it is much bigger than the depth of my AC. Leaning the panel vertically against the inside of the south-facing window result in 0W, but then I don't get much sunlight indoors until near midday.

I'm late to the power station and solar panel game but this is a fun intro. Not much use for urban non-outdoors people like me (and as I mentioned earlier, used 30000mAh 111Wh power bank can be had for $15-20). Previous experience was with a 9V 1.5W RadioShack bare hobby panel from 2000s that I couldn't do much things with.
