This is a good deal on this kettle, but that $240 pricetag is laughable. Its currently $85 on amazon and I've gotten it on sale below $70.

This kettle is very popular, but generally retails for under $90.
I had one for several years. It's reliable, easy to clean, easy to use, and has a good capacity. Plus the base is not too big, which is helpful for when counterspace is limited. IMO $50 is a good price.

To the extent that an electric tea kettle can be lifechanging, this one is lifechanging. I have used it every morning for years and years.

MSRP is a joke. It should be illegal to state such prices. Have owned this kettle for over 7 yrs and still going strong. The grounded pin broke on the 3 pin prong but it's been working fine. The labels are intact too. Great kettle.

This kettle is a mess of plastic parts that come into contact with water. There's a spout filter that's made of black plastic and possibly nylon mesh. The filter is removable but there's the black plastic bracket that the spout filter attaches to that also contacts water. This can be removable but probably not meant to, it's more work as it requires unscrewing a screw and removing the hex nut and two washers. Not sure how rust proof or clean the hole for the screw will be.

The water level window is plastic instead of glass. The inside of the lid is plastic; water doesn't touch it directly but steam will hit the plastic then condensation will drip back down. There's a black plastic part on the inside that looks like part of the lid hinge. Don't know if this contacts water but will definitely get steam and condensation. Terrible design.
