I highly recommend trying a massager like this for frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) if you have it! When I was in the painful "freezing" stage, I couldn't lift my arm or put it behind my back. My doctor's stretches weren't helping because my muscles were just too tight. I started using a massager daily. It was a bit painful but felt great at the same time. It relaxed my tight muscles enough so that I could finally do my physical therapy exercises properly. Within weeks, my mobility improved dramatically. Adhesive capsulitis can take upwards of two years to go through the three stages. I was better in two months using a massager.
