Spend a little more and use Fully Synthetic, then you change the oil at 10,000 miles.
Do the math and see which is cheaper in the end, which is better for your car. (Make sure to include the price of filters too).

Respectfully and obviously, it seems you have not had a new car in ages.
Unless you know better than Toyota's engineers or doubt Toyota's reputation and reliability, this is exactly what Toyota orders for an oil change. In fact, this is what millions of cars sold this year will have the scheduled oil change for the first two years by the dealer under ToyotaCare:
Engine oil and filter change every 10,000 miles (or 12 months)
So if your Toyota uses the standard synthetic-oil schedule, the free oil changes are usually performed at approximately:
10,000 miles
20,000 miles
You say you know better than TOYOTA? Then go to other manufacturers that do Factory Scheduled Oil Change at longer miles, when using their recommended FULLY SYNTHETIC oil.
But I do understand Old people who follow what they used to do decades back; however, please do NOT give wrong advice to others if you don't know enough. And yes, I am sorry if I don't believe what you suggest, based on your experience, over manufacturers.
