Send Help is a Sam Raimi horror action comedy that leans into dark humor, shock moments, and Rachel McAdams' performance. The movie is also praised for its social commentary, character study feel, and a few standout scenes like the boar battle, with bonus features including a Sam Raimi commentary and Movies Anywhere compatibility. The main knocks are uneven CGI, especially the animal effects, and a plot that can feel cheesy or easy to predict. It is the kind of watch that lands best if you are happy to suspend disbelief.

Common Questions (4)

  • It is watchable and has good shock moments, twists, and a fun dark-comedy tone, but it also has bad CGI in some animal scenes and little rewatch value for some viewers. If you want a one-time Sam Raimi character-study style watch, $4.99 is a low-risk price.

  • Yes. The title is Movies Anywhere compatible, so you can connect your preferred retailer and stream it across linked services. Bonus features include a Sam Raimi commentary.

  • No. The browser link can show "this movie is no longer available," even though the title is listed at $4.99 on Apple TV and other retailers.

  • Yes. The movie worked fine through Apple TV on an iPad, so the Apple TV purchase path can be used for playback there.

It's a girl boss fantasy movie, what do you expect

This sounds like you didn't even watch it. Or maybe you're just stirring the pot to get attention.

Either way, this movie is stellar!

Lots of good social commentary and a nice presentation of how monstrous and inhuman tendencies manifest themselves in different forms.

Terrible move, no idea how it's rated so highly. CGI is bad, the movie is cheesy, and easy to guess what's next. Could possibly be the worst movie I've seen in the last 10 years.

Some of the cheese seems purposeful, like a dark comedy.

Sorry this movie couldn't live up to your expectations of your highly-coveted 10-yr-best Minions movie

Imagine getting your feelings hurt enough to attack someone online over a personal opinion.

Sarcastic hyperbole that's belittling. Yeah would be the definition of an attack.

One hyperbole responded to another hyperbole. Sorry for any attack

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

was it amazing? no. was it was a fun movie. yes

calling it a "terrible movie" or the "worst movie I've seen in the last 10 years" seems rough considering the drab that has been released in the last 10 years

That's your takeaway from this movie? Really?

I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but that's an incredibly shallow reading of it, and it's not a deep movie to begin with. The media literacy of this generation is genuinely depressing.
It is not even just that. It is explained (shown) in the movie why she is how she is. The movie is fiction but the reason is based in reality. The OP, Quality-Learing, sounds like someone who never saw the movie or watched it with a bias

Decent movie but I'm not sure that it's something that I'd watch twice
Boar battle is 100% worth watching again.

watched this in theaters, and without nitpicking, thought it was an awesome movie. To me, if I'm engaged with the film and the story and the characters and I'm not bored/yawning, it's a good movie. There was a lot I didn't see coming (and a lot that I did), but was still a great watch for me. Like watching a character study. Purchased for $4.99 because it's cheaper than the movie ticket price I paid to now own it, and now I can play it for my 84 year old grandparents Big Grin

I thought it was a fun movie. Watched it twice.
Love Rachel McAdams' cringey funny acting. It plays on "the survivor" fantasy with horror/action comedy.
As a typical Sam Raimi movie, there's not a lot of logic or sense to the plot. Just suspend your beliefs and enjoy the show.

pays to have a terrible memory.. I can't even remember what movies I've watched.
Had that same issue but starting in 2020 I kept a yearly Note on my phone which lists all the movies/tv shows i watched (how many times, seasons, etc) video games i finished, Live events i attended (concerts, sports, etc).

Really has helped me to avoid repeat playing or watching the same things. Unless its movies/shows I really enjoy rewatching.

I paid more than $5 to see it in the theater and didn't regret a penny.
