I got tired of feeling like I was in a big pool toy so I gave mine away and bought a drop-stitch boat. Yes it cost a lot more, but it felt closer to a real kayak. I live in an apartment and drive a small car so molded plastic was out and folding kayaks were just starting to exist when I bought the drop-stich boat otherwise I might have given that a go instead.
All that said if it'll get you, your kids, you're spouse, etc. on the water and exercising buy it and enjoy it!

They are also very easy to store and transport, they can be harder to sink than hard shell kayaks since they're usually compartmentalized, and they have a way higher weight capacity which is great for hauling gear.
