Another anecdote for ya. Until last year? I was a manual brusher. Bought a cheap $8 unit posted on SD. Last dental visit, the hygienist said I had virtually no plaque. (Not that I had a ton before.) But that told me that 1) and electric toothbrush can be better than manual and 2) a cheap electric is fine, so I don't need to pay for an expensive brand. My 2 cents...

FWIW.....I just went down this rabbit hole and ended up going with the Aquasonic Black/Icon series toothbrush. There is a point where you get what you pay for, and the Aquasonic is recommended by the ADA and many dentists for its price vs performance ratio.

The 4100 used to be the cheapest model that had strong motors, but apparently they've been silently downgraded in recent years so you have to buy the more expensive models to get a fast enough vibration
