I have one that I'm picking up later at Best Buy that I ordered yesterday what do you think of the display that's the real issue everything else looks pretty good
Haven't picked mine up yet (going in a little) but I think it seems serviceable at least. Samsung always overcooks their display configs so hopefully it's not too bad, but at least on paper it doesn't sound too far off from many displays. I'm actually more worried about the speakers, keyboard, and trackpad at the moment.

I picked it up at BB and found the display wasn't as good as my 10-year-old Surface Pro 4, and the speakers were disappointing as well. If there's no restocking fee, I'd like to return it. The price is attractive, but if display quality and speaker performance are important to you, I wouldn't recommend it.

Writing this on the Samsung now, only used it for a bit but first impressions.

I think the display is fine enough that it wouldn't bother me. Is it perfect? Not even close but it's clear and smooth and brighter than my Asus G14. Exceeds my expectations.

Was worried about the trackpad and think it's workable, would still prefer it to be both fixed and bigger (plus matching the display aspect ration) but it seems to work well. Keyboard I'm not sure about still, very different than I'm used to with very little travel. My problem as much as anything is it's so low profile I'm struggling to locate keys when I'm not on the home row. Things like enter and the arrow keys especially but just landing on the home row is hit and miss. Multi key single folder shortcuts like shift-ctrl are also kind of hard with the extreme low profile. This hasn't been uncomfortable to write (though it hasn't been hours of work either) so I could probably get adjusted to it over time.

The speakers though... they must have tried really hard to make them this bad. I would personally consider them bordering on unusable, definitely not over 50% since even that's getting extremely tinny and blowing out. 40% on a hard surface is about as good as I can find and it's still really bad. Watch the video I linked above and it's every bit that bad. It might border on deal breaker for me since one of the benefits of this for me would be a bigger screen for watching shows and movies when we're traveling but these speakers are a disaster. (Edit- Still not good but EQ can get them to acceptable at least)

Also for anyone else curious, Linux seems to be running fine with all the hardware if anyone else was wanting it to get away from Microslop. Only thing so far that doesn't appear to just be working is the keyboard backlight so will have to see if that can be solved.

I get that you like it. But most people rarely do use it. Be it has downsides.1) The numberpad shifts the alphabets away from the center of the screen and is less comfortable for my neck2) keys tend to be little smaller3) loss of space for heat dissipation, speakers, internals and rigidity4) look more cluttered (which I don't care about)
This is wrong.
For a 16in laptop numpad does not make the keyboard smaller like you claim. You can see there are vast amount of empty space on the left and right side of the keyboard of this samsung laptop.
Manufacturers probably saving few cents, and some designers think it looks cool to be like macbook or sth to have both left-right side to have empty black space...
Even without a numpad, you can clearly see Samsung opted for tiny arrows here. If it was about comfort, then they'd put full size arrows as they removed numpad.
I avoid any laptop (15+ in) without numpad. I may not use it very often, but when I need it, it is damn useful. Not just power users, productivity users but all users enjoy having one. Using calculator, filling a form, writing your phone number...
Samsung used to had for earlier series and galaxy book 5. So avoid this one. Dont have 32 gb ram or 258V processor so looks worse than earlier series anyway. 16gb ram is barely enough these days.

Been playing with EQ and I think the speakers might be able to be gotten to serviceable at least. I'm not experienced or good at it but I'll share if I find something I wind up happy with.
Also different Linux distro (Fedora now) and the keyboard backlight works fine.

What's the return policy for those picking up at Best Buy? If one was to return it, does it go through Best Buy or would you have to ship it to Samsung? 15 days? 30 days?

You need to go to BB for return but will be charged for restocking fee. At least 5%
