This is my first time seeing one that has one pneumatic tire and one solid tire. Has anyone used one like this that can say how it rides?

The majority of the time I used to get flats, on an older scooter I had with air tires, the rear would ALWAYS be my biggest PITA! It would go flat on me constantly but the front tire always did fine. I'm not positive but perhaps that's the thinking behind this air tire in front and solid tire in back. Also, when you have 2 solid tires, it's a rather rough and bumpy ride. I would guess having the front air tire makes for a much smoother ride experience.

This is not scientific, just a handful of people. But they all say in real world, due to hills, weight, speed, you'll only truly get 50-60% of the top mileage range. So for this 12 mile range, real world range might be say 7 miles. But remember to cut the distance to location by half, since you want to come back on the escooter, not towing it on foot. So the farthest distance you can go from A to B is about 3.5 miles, fairly worry free. I've been keeping an eye on them.

This is exactly it. 80%+ of flats in tubed tires occur on the back tire. If your scooter doesn't have split rims, then changing a flat really sucks. But air filled tires are better in every other way: Better shock absorption, ride comfort, traction and stopping power. Also, very hard braking can actually cause uneven wear on a solid tire and cause it to go out of round. But this is a compromise solution.

Your heuristic of half or just a little better of stated range is generally a pretty good one. Higher quality, better established brands tend to not overstate it quite as much.

A good frame of reference is to look at the Watt Hours of the batter. Multiply the Voltage of the system (36v in this case) by the aH (5.2), which equals a 187wh battery. That is VERY low. I would bet an adult averaging 10-12mph on this with some starts and stops would be lucky to get over 5 miles total. I wouldn't rely on this for any regular commute I needed to do over 3 miles round trip.
