This HP Omen 45L 5090 build stands out as a customizable way to get Nvidia's flagship card, especially when configured with 16GB of RAM instead of 32GB. Stacking the 16GB option with EPP and the military discount brings the price down to about $3,636 before tax, and the 16GB choice avoids paying for memory that can be upgraded later. The chassis appears to use standard size parts for the power supply and cooler, but HP may still rely on proprietary components, and the motherboard has limited expansion. Delivery can also slip because these are custom builds, so patience may be needed.
Common Questions (5)
The deal can stack with EPP for an extra $161 off, and the military/frontline discount can also be applied for 4% off after ID.me and HP verification. Stacking those discounts brings the build to about $3,636 before tax.
The HP motherboard can be hit or miss at DDR5-6000: one build would not cold boot at that speed and needed an RMA, while another runs the default 5600 MT/s fine when kept plugged in or on UPS. HP also advertises 6000 MT/s, but some units may not hold it stably.
Selecting the 16GB (8GB x 2) RAM configuration cuts about $350 off the price versus the 32GB setup. That makes the build much cheaper if you plan to upgrade memory yourself later.
The PSU is reported to be a standard size and can fit a replacement 1200W unit, but HP systems may still use proprietary parts in some areas. Use the original PSU cables only, since mixing cables from different PSUs can damage hardware.
The installed card measures about 14 inches long, 5 inches deep, and 3 inches tall, with the PCIe interface bringing the depth to roughly 5.5 inches. That makes clearance checks important before moving it to another case.

Memory speed seems hit or miss with prop. boards but I don't try to overclock, it's fast enough for me as I am mostly on VRAM.
I had a ram problem with Lenono when I added extra 64GB but then I swapped the lots the diff ram sticks were in then it worked but I can't get higher than 4800MT/s. some people said these prebuilts always end up clocking to 4800MT/s --- there was a bios menu that I can't get into either but most of my super fast needs are in VRAM so I didn't care too much. It is annoying that I couldn't get to 6000MT/s
My HP ran the default 5200 or so speed I think. or was it 5600 I can't recall

My one-way call is that the RTX 5090 price goes higher, not lower, over the near term.
I'd peg the directional target as +$300 to +$700 from current buyable street prices over the next few months, meaning more normal listings drifting toward roughly $4.3k–$4.8k rather than falling back toward MSRP.
Why I'd choose up: current supply is still extremely tight, PC Gamer says the RTX 5090 has "all but disappeared" with remaining U.S. stock heavily overpriced, and the global memory shortage is now hitting GPU manufacturing costs. Tom's Hardware's current tracker shows the RTX 5090's best U.S. price around $4,099 versus a $1,999 launch MSRP, while BestValueGPU shows current Amazon pricing around $4,329 and used eBay around $4,000. GPU Poet's June 2026 data also shows the lowest-average price was $3,709, up 2.2% versus the prior three months.
So forced to pick just one direction: bullish on price / bearish for buyers — RTX 5090 goes up.
A couple of long ass messages about how I use my machines. Haha

The lowest I found was $3100-3200 for 5090 PCsOMEN HP 45L Desktop: Ultra7 265K, RTX 5090, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 1200W PSU, Win11
I thought I saw some with 64GB before.
This was Jan.
I am too lazy to look and reminisce the past prices lol
14" length from left to right.
5" depth of the card from outside toward the motherboard - need to add the PCEI interface so maybe 5 1/2" max with the PCIE interface
Height of the card is 3"in (just 2'9" but 3" to be safe. (side view height) - you get the idea.
July 20th ship date...
Best deal for a 5090 so far since mid April for me is $3500, this last June 29th deal was $3636!
Glad it went below $3900 largely because it offered a 16GB (8x2) config and not forced a 32GB config!
Can't wait to get these fast cards.

How accurate have HP's estimates been? It might be a problem for me if it is delayed a few days from the estimate shipping date.

First few orders were pretty accurate but the Jun 18th order was delayed from 6/25 to 7/13 ship date. The dates slipped for the first time for me Shipped from Texas I think so it is just a few days to get it delivered. 7/16-7/20
This Jun 29th order said 7/20 and should be similar to be so fingers crossed it ships on time! so maybe 7/25 delivery latest I hope
I have no idea how many machines they had in stock so hard to say they are are just so backed up from all of the orders since these are all custom builds!
