This HP Omen 45L 5090 build stands out as a customizable way to get Nvidia's flagship card, especially when configured with 16GB of RAM instead of 32GB. Stacking the 16GB option with EPP and the military discount brings the price down to about $3,636 before tax, and the 16GB choice avoids paying for memory that can be upgraded later. The chassis appears to use standard size parts for the power supply and cooler, but HP may still rely on proprietary components, and the motherboard has limited expansion. Delivery can also slip because these are custom builds, so patience may be needed.

  • Choosing the 16GB (8GB x 2) RAM configuration can lower the total price by about $350 versus the 32GB setup.

  • The HP 5090 GPU fit can be planned using measured dimensions around 14 inches long and about 3 inches tall.

    Elon69

  • The PSU can fit properly when upgrading from 1000W to 1200W, and the AIO and LCD can be reused in another build.

    Elon69

  • HP EXPO DDR5-6000 memory training can fail to cold boot on the HP motherboard, leading to an RMA for one unit.

    pennytrader

  • RAM speed on HP prebuilts can fall short of the advertised 6000MT/s, with experiences capped around 4800MT/s and BIOS access issues.

    Elon69

  • HP may use proprietary parts such as the PSU, so buyers may need to double-check compatibility before purchasing upgrades.

  • Delivery timing can slip on custom builds, including a June 18 order that moved from a 6/25 ship date to 7/13.

how about a registered nurse?
Just initiate chat and ask customer service. They might surprise you and your hospital may be registered.

Is this a good desktop? I have never owned an HP, but have a lot of work computers from them that are just subpar/mediocre at best. This seems like a solid price, all things considered, but would love to hear from the greater/experienced community if HP can be trusted for gaming. Ty kindly.

id.me is just the verification system for EPP. There is but a single discount.

HP likes to use proprietary parts, specifically the PSU, you may want to double check

My heart wants it...but my mind...nah. Spending $4k for some pixels to move around a little faster and look a little better makes no sense. I have a 4k screen with a 4070ti. All I want is a 5090 and I kick myself for not getting a founders when I had the chance...twice...but that ship sailed a long time ago

The prediction is for 5090 to go up in price, based on AI's research
You mean the AI research powered by the RTX 5090 predicts that the RTX 5090 will see continued price increases? Wild.

Standard size on the PSU, I took the PSU to upgrade another computer from 1000W to 1200W and it was also a perfect fit. Be sure to take all of the cables, you never ever use cables from a diff PSU even from the same manufacture. Always use the same set of cables that came with the PSU!

I also swapped the motherboard mATX to mounted it on a diff open air case.

The AIO watercooled cpu cooler also works and standard mobo, nice LCD so I used it on another computer as well. I forgot the brand I read it was from.

Omen Motherboard B850 - I don't like this mobo only because I need more than 1 PCIE slot for a 2nd video card.

Made an order, then realized I had a credit card offer. So I canned it, and then tried to order again. When I press place order, it just jumps around the page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You might have to chat the CSR. It will not let me order again while I have another order in. Maybe the cancellation has not taken the full effect yet?

Which credit card offer was this?

amex gold, and likely platinum too. Its 10% up to $200. My cap one card on first order was likely just using their CB. And that sometimes can have issues with the affiliated links.

I should look into those. Capital was low but I did get cash back bonus. I will try the Amex route too!

For the HP motherboard, I can't seem to get it cold boot (power unplugged) to DDR5 6000 (HP EXPO memory profile) and I guess something wrong with the memory training stability on this build. Already RMAed one so I'll just keep it with UPS for 6000 profile.
