when is the best time to buy a gaming rig like this? is it black friday/cyber monday, after xmas for excess inventory or just randomly throughout the year?
If this configuration resembles what you are loking for, I'd buy it now and enjoy your games. I don't think it will get significantly better for quite some time.

The memory crisis is going at least through 2028 and some are saying 2030+. Prices are going to continue to skyrocket through 2026. Reports from industry titans like Micron are saying another 60% or more increase by December.

If you need a rig, buy ASAP. Very high chance that deals now will easily beat any 'deals' come black Friday.

Anything with memory in it you need to consider buying sooner rather than later, especially computers. It mega-sucks, but it's the reality of the situation.

For right now, this is actually a decent deal.

Last year, around October to early November had the best gaming laptop prices.

I got a Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 10 with Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5070, and 32GB DDR5 for about $1500, before including another $400 in points/cash back.

I don't recall any laptop deals around Black Friday beating that, but I wasn't paying attention to desktops.

Microcenter usually has a great Black Friday bundle price on motherboard, ram, and CPU, if you want to build your own.

I think everyone's waiting for the AI bubble to pop so GPU and memory prices can come back down to reality. until that happens, prices are projected to continue increasing, so I would grab one now unless you are willing to wait up to a few years.

The Intel Ultra 5 250KF Plus CPU here is a lot better. Like really a lot.

How does it compare to "Prebuilt PC GXL 99756" from Cyberpower direct:
https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/syst...-GXL-99756 ?
To me they seem similar, but CXL comes with 32GB Ram, and bigger (?) 360mm Liquid Cooling.

The price after coupon "JULY4TH" - $1,547.10. Ships free.

Smoking deal. That 250KF plus is a monster over clocker if you're into that sort of thing. Free performance. That RTX 5070 on a 32" 1080 165 - 180hz monitor can hit those FPS on ultra settings. I am shocked at this deal. I just looked at the other PC offerings, and they are all crap compared to this. They literally have RTX 5060 Ti systems for $1700+ ...... I mean, if you have a PS5 or Xbox and have been wanting to move over to a gaming PC, or need to update an older PC . ... this is a very sweet deal. Also, that 16GB DDR5 is plenty. I would pair this with a 32" 1080p 180hz monitor, and you are going to have a fantastic gaming experience. This probably the best PC deal I've seen in the past 2+ years, and I look daily.

I bought a different version with same case from cyberpower Case runs warm. I ended up having to change cases.
I have this case with the 9800X3D and 9070XT. My temps hover around 60s and the fans aren't roaring by any means.

I asked CyberPower support for details about motherboard and PSU, and while they didn't give a lot of detail:

1. B860 motherboard
2. 850W PSU

What a sh*tty situation to have to be in. Either upgrade now at crazy prices or wait a year and upgrade at bizarro, crazy prices. Oh, this is absolutely FP material.

9060 XT is very weak. Same with the Ryzen 7 9700F. Doesn't even compete with this.
