- It says right on the bottle, "DO NOT USE ON ELECTRICAL FIRE", eh?
Community Reviews
Prepared Hero Mini Fire Extinguishers are compact emergency sprays aimed at small household fires, with the 4 pack dropping to about $26.60 on Subscribe and Save. The main appeal is convenience for quick response, but the comments stress important limits: it is not for live electrical fires, lithium battery fires, or flammable metals, and the bottle is labeled not to use on electrical fire. There is also concern about a Made in USA claim versus China labeling. A practical backup for minor non electrical fires, but not a substitute for the right extinguisher.
The extinguisher is electrically non-conductive and is intended for situations where power is shut off.
The guidance suggests using a Class C CO2 or dry chemical extinguisher for live electrical, EV, or DC scenarios.
The product may be usable for electrically-started fires when the power is already turned off first.
The extinguisher cannot be used on electrical fires, which can make it a poor fit for live wiring emergencies.
The bottle labeling warns against electrical fires, creating a mismatch with any expectation of broader electrical coverage.
The product may not be effective for lithium battery fires in an RV, limiting protection for common battery-related incidents.
The product may be unsuitable for flammable metals because Class D is required and is harder to find.
