The 83 inch LG OLED evo AI G5 stands out as a bright, premium gaming and movie TV, with PS5 games and 4K discs looking great and the free wall mount and install adding value. The coupon code worked at checkout, and the bundled S95TR soundbar package could be added at a steep discount with free shipping. The main drawbacks are the price jump versus the 77 inch G5 and the fact that checkout could fail when the set sold out or the zip code reset. WebOS also drew criticism, making an external Apple TV appealing for smoother streaming.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. The checkout can reset the zip code to 90210 and trigger a sold-out or area error; correcting the zip code again reportedly lets checkout proceed.

    pracuraScarletDeer6728

  • The TV's picture is praised, but WebOS is described as weak enough that an Apple TV is a common workaround. Using an external streamer can avoid the built-in interface entirely.

    Gators513breaktheground

  • It comes with a supplied wall mount, not a stand. If you want tabletop placement, you'll need to buy a separate stand or use a compatible third-party solution.

    Shlanker

  • The 83-inch G5 came to about $3,150, and the S95TR soundbar package added roughly $400 after the 50% discount. That put the total at about $3.8k after tax with free shipping.

WebOS is garbage. Using this with Apple TV is the way to go

I upgraded to this from a 77 CX the last time the partner store had this price a couple of months ago. I got a solid team for the free install as well. I'm very happy with this tv. Ps5 games and 4k discs look great. My CX was solid but was starting to feel a little dim at times.

Typical LG nonsense. Run a good sale, while you have no inventory.

Thanks OP! I just ordered this. Was waiting on a deal for a 83" G4 or G5 for so long.

It's 17% bigger. That's a lot.
Yeah but the 77 from the 65 is 40 percent larger for a few hundred dollars more.

I got my 77" G5 from Greentoe for $2399 (no tax) and this 83" deal comes out to $1089 more. I thought about returning the 77 and getting this one, but a 17% increase for 45% more price isn't worth it to me.

It's a 31% increase in price not 45%.

83 G5 is back in stock, but I'm doubtful the coupon still works (I didn't try it, as I just ordered the 77 G6).
