I have a similar unit from a different manufactory, but same BTU, same form factor, same knob control. I found it to be adequate for cooling a smaller bedroom. It is slightly louder than I want it to be, despite the advertising saying otherwise. The unit does not have a thermostat, in that you can not set a target temperature and have it stop once the desired temperature is reached. It's just on till you turn it off. I have it plugged to a smart outlet, so I can remotely control it.
Installation was really easy though; one person can do it.
